Membership Information
Burlingame is an Equity Club that began in 1983.
The Clubhouse, with the recent remodel, was built with an appreciation for superb craftsmanship and is noted for being one of the most visually exciting structures of its kind. The interior creates an effect of richness, dignity and warmth.
Our Membership will be limited to 300 Golf Members and 50 Social Members once the development is complete. We do have an active Membership and there are many activities in which to participate year round.

addition to a Universal machine, we offer state of the art Life Fitness equipment,
including treadmills, stationary and recumbent bicycles and several other pieces of
equipment for your complete workout. We also offer the services of a personal
trainer by appointment who can customize a workout regimen specifically for you.

Recreation
Enjoy our top ranked 18 hole golf course, fast-dry tennis courts, meet your friends
for a dip in the heated pool, take a hike to the tops of mountain peaks to watch the
sunset, or go trout fishing in the beautiful Horsepasture River. In short, recreation
possibilities are almost endless at Burlingame.
Golf
Burlingame Country Club has an impeccably kept, top-ranked 18 hole
championship golf course featuring breathtaking views of the mountains and sunset,
and the best woods and water the area has to offer. Meandering streams
and lakes make this golf course a true challenge for players of all abilities. Hole #17
is a short but demanding shot across a lake to a well-bunkered green and is the
Club's signature hole. The beautifully designed par 72 course is one of the finest
and most popular in Western North Carolina.
Either before or after play, please visit the fully stocked golf shop featuring all the
popular lines of apparel and hard goods. The golf shop is located downstairs below
the fitness center.
The golf staff is ready to assist guests as well as members in making their golf
experience at Burlingame Country Club both enjoyable and memorable.
Tennis
The Tennis Center at Burlingame Country Club is located on Club Drive within
a short walking distance of the Clubhouse. Our Tennis Center features four fast
dry courts and one hard court. We also offer a ball machine for practice as well as a
backboard. Our fast dry courts are groomed daily for your playing enjoyment.
Burlingame, in keeping with tradition, requires proper tennis attire during play. Our
Tennis Shop is open six days a week with merchandise and racquet restringing.
Lessons are provided by appointment from our USTPA Professional,
Matt McCauley at 828-966-9208. Please check the bulletin board and Club Newsletter
for upcoming special events.
Outdoor Sports
Our members are very active outdoors. The Burlingame Fishing and
Hiking Club offers wonderful opportunities for exploring the surrounding woods and water. A few of the activities include: Fishing for all
levels of expertise, many group hikes, wildflower and nature walks, social events
such as cookouts by the river and new friendships with kindred spirits.
The Horsepasture River, a State natural and Scenic River, flows freely and easily
along the boundary of Burlingame carrying the clear waters of recently melted
snows from faraway. With more than two miles of river winding through the
property and many more miles of woodland trails for exploration, any "trout bum" or "ridge
runner" will find Burlingame to be the perfect mountain retreat.
For more information, contact Joni Warva, Membership, Marketing and Events Coordinator at 828-966-9200 or check our "Woods
and Water" bulletin board at the Clubhouse. |
